Polar Opposites is a local co-op sci-fi puzzle adventure powered by Magnets!
Overview
Polar Opposites is a cooperative 3D puzzle-platformer set within a sci-fi mining universe, built around a shared magnetic polarity system. Each player controls an opposing polarity, allowing them to push, pull, and manipulate magnetic objects to navigate environments, solve puzzles, and overcome combat challenges.
Set across a range of themed planets, players explore, discover, and complete cooperative challenges while unlocking new mechanics and environments that expand the possibilities of the core polarity system.
Polar Opposites is inspired by cooperative experiences like It Takes Two, and the accessible, replayable design of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

The World of Polar Opposites
Polar Opposites is set within a sci-fi mining operation that reaches every corner of the galaxy. After a catastrophic event disrupts their mission, players are left to explore these hostile worlds while working to recover lost systems and uncover a path forward.
Across these environments, players discover ancient Polarity Shards that integrate with their mining equipment, granting each character control over opposing magnetic forces. These abilities become the core mechanics of the game, enabling traversal, puzzle-solving, and combat encounters throughout the journey.
As players travel between planets recovering essential ship components, they navigate hazardous environments, mining infrastructure, and evolving threats that reinforce the game’s sci-fi identity across a diverse range of planetary settings.
The mining colony ship serves as a central hub, where players can access missions, unlock upgrades and cosmetics, and gradually expand available areas as progression unfolds. Rescuing “Miners in Peril” further enhances the hub, unlocking new rooms, bonus content, and collectibles that encourage exploration and replayability.
The story is delivered entirely without dialogue, using expressive animation, sound design, and comedic timing inspired by the slapstick style of classic Lego games, keeping the experience lighthearted and gameplay-focused.
